Kasama’s passion has been working with students from elementary schools up to high schools in developing their character and leadership skills.

Kasama co-founded Career Day at American Canyon High School (ACHS) in 2013.  She has served as a volunteer and has led the success of this program collaborating with ACHS Counseling team, Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) College and Career Ready and Napa County Office of Education (NCOE).  In 2023, this life-changing program has now become an approved NVUSD school district wide project for all the other high schools to benefit from.

In 2018, Kasama was one of the 30 individuals who were honored and awarded as Hometown Heroes by (TAFB).

Kasama has served as an Honorary Commander at Travis Air Force Base (TAFB) since 2019.  Her role is to walk alongside the Commander in charge of her designated squadron (David Grant Hospital) and connect her Squadron and the TAFB with the local communities through all the great work they are doing around the world.

The Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD)’s Superintendent asked Kasama to be a School Bond Campaign Chair to mobilize the Measure A2 school bond to pass in the City of American Canyon!  With much hard work and sacrifice from everyone, together with the City of American Canyon parents, residents, our students, community leaders and municipality officials, we got the bond to pass by a landslide.
